What is SEO ?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a method of optimizing your content, the objective of which is to position you effectively on search engines.
When you search on Google, you get a list of relevant results based on your query. The first results proposed are those that have been optimized for search engines.

Using the right keywords
Writing an SEO article begins with the choice of one or more keywords. The use of keywords is important since this is what will allow visitors surfing on Google to arrive on your site.
If you choose a keyword that is too « general », it may be too competitive and you will have very little chance of being well referenced. For example, it will be unlikely to position you on the first page with a keyword such as « Women’s Fashion ». It makes more sense to opt for long tail keywords like « Fashion trend women 40 years ».
And avoid accumulations of keywords, use synonyms.
The length of the article
The ideal length of web content has always been the subject of many questions. Google recommends posting content of at least 300 words and prioritizing longer content. However, there is no need to write to write, the best length for a text is that which gives all the information that the user is looking for. Quality takes precedence over quantity.
Add your keyword in the first 100 words. This allows search engine bots to quickly find this keyword and index your article.
Structure your content with the tags H1, H2,…
- The title (H1)
The title of your article must imperatively contain your keywords and preferably at the beginning of the sentence. Write catchy headlines and keep them from being too long. Numbers are often used in headlines, they draw more attention : « 10 reasons why your business should have a website ».
- Subtitles (H2, H3, etc…)
Subtitles allow you to organize your article with sub-categories, to prioritize them and have the advantage of being able to insert its keywords.
The title of your article is normally interpreted as an H1 tag, so start with the H2 tags. Try adding your targeted keyword in at least one subtitle, preferably H2.
External links, also called backlinks, allow visitors who click on a keyword to go directly to another site. This allows your readers to learn more about the subject, increases the quality of your article, and is highly valued by search engine robots.
Remember to have the link open in a new tab : the user can stay on your site while viewing another.
Internal links allow you to link your articles to each other. A good internal mesh allows search engines to access certain less visible pages and lower your bounce rate by encouraging your readers to consult other articles on your site.
Optimize your images for SEO
First take care of the quality of your images. Visuals are a driving force for retaining a reader on a site. There are many free and royalty-free image banks.
Reduce the size of your images : if the loading time of your page is too slow, this will have a negative impact on your positioning. In absolute terms, your image should not exceed 200 KB. There are online image compressors such as Optimizilla.
Rename your files : DSC-1234567.jpg will never position you on the first Google page…
Add alternative text (ALT). This attribute allows you to give a short description of your image and you can take advantage of it to add keywords. But don’t write a whole paragraph or a succession of keywords !
The page URL
Your article URL should be short and contain the keywords for your article. Avoid prepositions go to the basics.
The meta description
This is the text that appears below the link of your article in the search engine. Try to convey the general idea by staying concise. The meta description is limited to 140 characters and plays an essential role in the rankings. If this tag is left blank, Google will automatically insert the first few lines of your text.
